Notes to John and Jennifer:
Just to remind everyone what we agreed the format of the book would be... The intent of the opening chapters is a quick and easy introduction to the patterns -- really a framework for using the patterns. The patterns document what the book is all about. We can't make the early chapters heavy-duty or longer without intruding on the patterns -- we don't want to say the same thing twice.
We feel we should keep the early chapters small and separate as an easy way to navigate the large collection of patterns -- but these early chapters do not give all the information we have about the use of each pattern. For readers who want to know more, the format for each pattern reference will be of the form:
Evangelist(page number).
This will give them an easy pointer to learn more.

We have addressed all of Jennifer's comments.

Thank you very much!
