Simplify the following Boolean functions using Karnaugh maps. List the Boolean functions in Sum-of-Products form after you have constructued your map.

• F(a, b, c) = a b + a b' c + c'
• F(w, x, y, z) = w x' + x y z + w x y' z + x' y' z'
• F(a, b, c, d) = Σ(0, 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13, 14)

Problem 2

Show the prime implicants, the distinguished 1-cells, and the essential prime implicants in the following two Boolean functions.

• F(a, b, c, d) = Σ(0, 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 15)
• F(a, b, c, d) = Σ(0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 14)
