During this lab exercise, you will create several Quattro Pro files all of which need to be turned in at the end of the lab period. All files that you create as part of this exercise should be saved on your floppy disk in a directory called QP. Start the lab by creating this QP directory at the top level of your floppy disk---do that now. Be sure to save your work in that directory.
This material will be demonstrated in class; there are no assignments to be turned in that cover this material. By topic, the major objectives of these sections are as follows:
Understanding the various components of the notebook window |
Entering data in a spreadsheet |
Opening, editing and saving spreadsheet files |
Work the exercise entitled, "Creating A Notebook" beginning on page 32 of your lab manual and ending on page 40. During this exercise, you will create a file called Sheet1.wb2 (the file extension, wb2, is automatically added by Quattro Pro). You will also need to answer the three questions in the Checkpoint exercise on page 40. Enter the answers to these questions in a new notebook and save that notebook in a file named Chkpt.wb2. Save the files you create on your floppy disk in your QP directory.
This material will be demonstrated in class; there are no assignments to be turned in that cover this material. By topic, the major objectives of these sections are as follows:
Specifying a block of cells |
Editing cell values |
Inserting and deleting rows or columns |
Work the exercise entitled, "Using Blocks in Commands" beginning on page 72 of your lab manual and ending on page 84. This is a relatively long exercise, be sure to follow the instructions in the workbook carefully. Stop after step 13 on pg 84, do not work the exercises in the remainder of the section. Save the files as instructed on your floppy disk in the WQ directory.
