On page 4 of the Lab 6 description, instructions are
given for "Compiling and Running C Programs" on either the
lab PC's at NCSU or on EOS. Students are UNCA may prefer
to use their bulldog accounts. The steps you'll
follow, which are given below, are very similar to those that
would be used on the EOS systems.
- Use the pico text editor to create your C program.

Make sure that /usr/local/bin is in your search
path. (That's where gcc lives.)

Assuming your program is named "lab6.c, you can compile
it as follows:
This will create an executable called "a.out"
