King's Mountain Point Fishing Pier and Picnic Area

Location:

On Badin Lake 15 miles NW of Troy, NC  off FR 597A.

Access

From Troy, follow 109 North to Mullinix Rd. ( route No. 1154). Turn left onto Mullinix Rd. Proceed to the stop sign and turn right onto FR 554. Proceed to the stop sign and turn right onto FR 597. Bear right onto Group Camp Road and follow it to the end, to where one will find a gate and a small parking area. Walk past the gate to the lakeshore.

Narrative:

This area was closed to vehicles because excessive erosion and lakeshore damage was occurring.  A toilet building is located at this site, but no other facilities are available.

Attractions:

Opportunities for hiking, fishing, picnicking, and swimming are available. Badin Lake Hiking Trail a 5.6 mile loop follows the lake shore from this area. A floating pier is also available at this site for fishing.
