Badin Lake Horse Camp
Location:
In the Badin Lake Management Area.
Access:
From Troy, take 109 N through Uwharrie to Mullinix Rd. just past Macedonia Church. Turn left onto Mullinix Rd. Go past a small bridge and the Horse Camp will be on the right.
Narrative:
There is limited space for camping at the Horse Camp. However campers are encouraged to park their trailers within the parking area and to tie their horse to the hitching post provided. Toilets are provided at this site.
Trails:
A map depicting designated horse trails in the Uwharrie National Forest is available on this website. Equestrians are encouraged to stay on the designated trails to help control soil erosion and stream sedimentation.
Considerations:
Riders should yield to motorized vehicles. To avoid damaging trees, horses should be tethered on ropes tied between trees. Also, tie horses away from streams.
FEES:
$5.00 per night, per vehicle for camping.
$5.00 per day, for rider, for OHV trail use.
