Little River

Little River, located on the Uwharrie Ranger District, is visited by anglers for the variety of warm water fishing opportunities including sunfish, crappie, and Largemouth bass.  This river is managed under  the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission’s warmwater game fishing regulations (see “for more information” section). 

Access:  Take 1005 South from Troy.  Continue passed Pleasant Grove Road where you will see a Wildlife Boating Access sign just before the Little River passes under highway 1005,

Camping:  There are no publicly owned (Forest Service managed) camping facilities in the area.

Primitive camping is allowed on Forest Service lands throughout the Uwharrie District except where signed “no camping”.  Exceptions to this rule may occur along major Forest Service roads, where primitive campsites have been designated and signed to protect water quality and other natural resources.
