USDA Forest Service is committed to making its web sites accessible to all USDA customers and employees. All of the agency web sites are undergoing review and redesign as necessary to ensure that they meet or exceed the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. To learn more about Section 508 requirements, go to a USDA Section 508 website at http://www.ocio.usda.gov/irm/508/sec508.html .
Many of the documents on our website are in the Adobe Acrobat PDF format. The most recent versions of Adobe Acrobat software now generate documents that can meet Section 508 Accessibility guidelines. If you haven't done so already you may want to consider upgrading to the latest free Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0. available at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. This new reader, among other things, allows you to read the PDF document out loud, customize font size, change to high contrast viewing, and zoom in to individual sections. To learn more about these new accessibility features, you can visit Adobe's accessibility web page at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/access_overview.html.
The National Forests in North Carolina continues to work to make our web site accessible. Thank you very much for your patience through this redesign process. If you have any comments or suggestions for improvement, please contact Terry Seyden, Public Affairs Officer at tseyden@fs.fed.us. or call 828-257-4202.
If you have difficulty in reading any of the material on this site, we would be happy to provide you with a printed copy. Simply send a note to tseyden@fs.fed.us stating which document you want and what format requirements if any you have (font size, page size etc.)
