In 1996 two hospital systems, Memorial Mission and St. Joseph's, petitioned the government to combine clinical services in an effort to eliminate duplicate operations and to reduce the cost of healthcare. During the next 18 months Dr. Jennings led the task of merging these organizations' computer environments which consisted of very diverse information systems. His presentation will discuss how the two computer centers came together and how the challenging process was managed.
Dr. Jennings was the first graduate from UNCA's Department of Management in 1976. His insights are the product of his 32 years of experience working with and managing information systems.
